Jeremy Bender

Jeremy Bender, PhD, MBA,  is a biopharma industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience in the research, development, and commercialization of innovative new medicines. He was most recently the Chief Executive Officer, President, and a member of the board of directors of Day One Biopharmaceuticals. He was named in The Medicine Maker Power List 2025, which honors standout pioneers accelerating progress across drug development. Prior to joining Day One, Dr. Bender was Vice President of Corporate Development at Gilead Sciences.

He also previously held roles as Chief Operating Officer of Tizona Therapeutics and Chief Business Officer of Sutro Biopharma, both of which focused on development of new cancer medicines. Dr. Bender is also an independent member of the Boards of Mereo BioPharma and Aura Biosciences. He holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Stanford University, a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Colorado, and an M.B.A. from the MIT Sloan School of Management

As a member of the PNOC Foundation Board, Dr. Bender brings deep expertise in the biopharmaceutical industry, extensive experience forging strategic partnerships to advance innovative therapies, and a unique perspective as a collaborator with PNOC on clinical trials that led to a historic FDA approval for pediatric brain cancer.
