Michael Burton

Michael J. Burton is a nonprofit executive and board member of the PNOC Foundation, which supports the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium’s research and clinical trials. He serves as CEO of the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, bringing more than three decades of philanthropic leadership across cancer and diabetes. He holds a B.A. in Communications and a master’s in government/public administration from the University of Pennsylvania.

Previously, he led the AACR Foundation’s fundraising program as Chief Development Officer and Executive Director. At Gateway for Cancer Research, he served as President and CEO, overseeing support for early‑phase clinical trials. Before that, he held senior fundraising roles at the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) and Fox Chase Cancer Center, and earlier posts with Princeton University, The Pew Charitable Trusts, Temple University, and the University of Pennsylvania.
