FGA Trust Commits $7 Million to Accelerate Research For Diffuse Midline Glioma
Major investment will support the DMG Accelerator, bringing together leading researchers and institutions to advance new treatments for one of the most devastating childhood brain cancers
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 14, 2026) – The PNOC Foundation today announced a $7 million commitment from FGA Trust to support the DMG Accelerator, a collaborative research initiative bringing together leading scientists and clinicians in an effort to accelerate the development of new treatments for diffuse midline glioma (DMG).
DMG is one of the most aggressive and difficult-to-treat childhood brain cancers. Despite decades of research, treatment options remain extremely limited. The DMG Accelerator was created to change the pace of progress by providing researchers with the resources and collaborative infrastructure to pursue promising science across institutions and move discoveries toward patients more quickly.
FGA Trust’s $7 million commitment represents a major investment in this effort and will provide critical funding to researchers working across the DMG Accelerator.
“FGA Trust’s $7 million commitment is an extraordinary investment in the scientists who are working every day to change the future for children with DMG,” said Bruce Campbell, PNOC Foundation co-founder. “The DMG Accelerator is built on collaboration and a willingness to invest boldly in the most promising science. This support gives our researchers the resources to pursue important opportunities with the speed and ambition this disease demands. We are tremendously grateful to FGA Trust for believing in this work and the people driving it forward.”
The DMG Accelerator supports investigators across leading research institutions, creating opportunities for scientists with different areas of expertise to work collectively on some of the most important questions in DMG biology and treatment. The initiative is designed to support bold ideas with a fast track to the clinic — providing dedicated resources that enable investigators to share discoveries, pursue emerging opportunities, and rapidly advance the most promising work. “DMG remains an incredibly challenging disease, and meaningful progress will require collaboration across disciplines, laboratories, industry, parent advocacy and institutions,” said Dr. Sabine Mueller. The DMG Accelerator gives us the ability to bring together outstanding investigators globally around a shared scientific mission and pursue the questions we believe can make the greatest difference for patients in a short period of time. This remarkable commitment from FGA Trust will help us move that work forward with greater speed and ambition.”
Kavi Harilela, Director of FGA Trust, said the commitment reflects FGA Trust’s belief in investing in work capable of creating a lasting impact. “FGA Trust is proud to support the DMG Accelerator and the extraordinary researchers working to change what is possible for children and families facing this disease. We believe that a meaningful legacy is defined not simply by what we preserve, but by what we make possible for future generations. We are honored to support this collaborative effort and the scientists pursuing breakthroughs that could transform the future of DMG.”
